Grand Canyon Education, through its subsidiary Grand Canyon University is a regionally accredited provider of online postsecondary education services focused on offering graduate and undergraduate degree programs in our core disciplines of education, business, and healthcare. Based in Phoenix, AZ, Grand Canyon University offers online and campus-based bachelor's and master's degree programs through the College of Education, the Ken Blanchard College of Business, the College of Nursing, the College of Doctoral Studies, and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Since 1949, Grand Canyon University is one of Arizona's leading higher-education institutions. Based in Phoenix, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, interdenominational Christian University that offers 92 campus-based and online bachelor's master's, and doctoral degree programs in some of the fastest-growing career fields, including business, education, and nursing. GCU caters to both traditional undergraduate students and working professionals and prepares its students to become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible leaders by providing an academically challenging, values-based curriculum.
Our Students
Nearly 40,000 individuals make up the student body at GCU, including 4,000 attending on campus and 36,000 attending classes online. The student demographics speak volumes about the accessibility that GCU has created. Students come from all 50 states as well as Africa (Swaziland, Nigeria), Europe (Germany, Poland, United Kingdom) and Asia (Korea, United Arab Emirates). The male to female ratio is 36:64, and approximately 20 percent of the campus enrollment is Hispanic, with more than 12 percent African-American. The average age of our traditional campus-based student is 18-22 and the average age of our online student is 30.
Our Faculty
Our average class size is 17:1, which facilitates an environment conducive to learning and greater interaction. Twenty-two percent of the faculty teach both online and campus courses; 28 percent are tenured; and 50 percent of our campus faculty hold their master's degrees, while 36 percent hold their doctoral degrees. Our online faculty is present in the virtual classroom at least five of the seven days per week. Teaching assistants are not used.
