Letter From The President

The Value of Academic Integrity to Institutions - A Message from the President

At Grand Canyon University, we are an institution committed to excellence in all that we do. Academic integrity is a cornerstone of our reputation, as well as the foundation of the quality education one receives while attending GCU. In a community of teachers and learners, the principles of integrity and honor are regarded as fundamentals, and as members of the GCU community, we expect that these principles are upheld by all.

As a GCU student, we want you to understand the principles of academic integrity and why it is important. Moreover, academic integrity supports the mission on which GCU is based, as we prepare students to become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible leaders. By supporting these core principles, you add to the value of holding a GCU degree.

A student with academic integrity earns a degree with honest effort, and the degree becomes an accomplishment that reflects hard work, dedication, and genuine learning. You are here to receive a quality education, so I encourage you to take full advantage of your GCU experience, by asking insightful questions, exploring ideas, and producing original work that demonstrates your level of competence and understanding. Integrity and honor are not just values used in academic settings. These are the foundations for a life-long commitment to high moral and ethical standards.

Wishing you the best in your academic endeavors,

GCU President
