A bachelor’s degree program can take approximately four years to complete, depending on your program, student status (part-time or full-time), and any previous education or transfer credits. In 2022, over 91% of traditional campus graduates spent less than four years at GCU to complete their degrees, and over 40% of traditional campus graduates spent less than three years at GCU.

Yes, GCU offers accredited bachelor’s degrees online and on campus. Our university has been institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1968, providing a foundation of trust for quality education in both modalities.

Earning an online bachelor’s degree from an accredited university like GCU demonstrates a quality education that meets accreditation standards in key areas, such as student academic achievement, student services and resources, teaching and learning effectiveness and financial stewardship.

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree typically offers more courses in science, math and technology subjects and may focus more on logic, reasoning and quantitative skills. A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree often focuses on coursework around the arts, humanities and social sciences, with a stronger focus on developing critical thinking and communication skills.

Some schools offer accelerated bachelor’s programs for those who meet specific admission and programmatic requirements and are able to pursue their degree in a shorter time. An example of this type of program is GCU’s accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), where non-nursing degree holders may earn their BSN through a 16-month program.2

2 Secondary Applicants must transfer a minimum of 60 of the required 123 credits or have completed a baccalaureate degree which includes nine prerequisite courses/labs and 10 general education courses prior to starting the core nursing courses, which can be completed in as few as 16 months. Direct Entry Applicants that do not transfer 60 credits but meet the minimum requirements can complete these credits through GCU prior to starting the core nursing courses. Depending on the state where student has enrolled or intends to complete the program, student may require additional courses.
