Thank you for taking a few moments to check back in with us. The Office of Alumni Relations exists to serve as a resource to support you and keep you connected with the university.
Our Expanding Campus
These are exciting times here on our rapidly expanding campus! We kicked off the 2014-15 school year by welcoming an estimated 5,500 new students to campus, the most in GCU history, bringing our total campus enrollment to an anticipated 11,000 students.
If you haven't been on campus recently, I'd like to invite you to come back for a visit. We've continued to expand our campus with new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiatives as well as new classroom buildings and housing options. Our newly renovated Student Union features a two-story library, Grill 360 (an all-you-can-eat dining option with live stations), Peet's Coffee & Tea, Mojo Bowl and Qdoba. Thunder Alley, the newest dining and entertainment facility on campus, now features popular eateries such as Chick-fil-A and Subway.
During the spring and summer months, GCU Arena underwent renovations which included installing an additional 2,000 seats bringing capacity up to 7,000.
We're also planning on building four additional residence halls to house students in time for the 2015-16 school year.
Our Online Population
Our online student enrollment has exceeded 50,000 students taking classes nationally and globally. Combined with our campus students, we are welcoming new alumni at a rate of over 10,000 each year!
Our Division I Athletics Teams
Our athletics teams excelled in our first season of Division I play in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Head Coach and former Phoenix Suns star "Thunder" Dan Majerle led the Lopes men's basketball team to a third place finish in the WAC and postseason play. The alumni tailgate tradition before home basketball games continues to grow and gain momentum, and we invite you to come out and join us at a game next season.
Drop by the Alumni Center in Bldg. 4 next time you are on campus. We'd love to see you!
