Grand Canyon University is a Christian university, and as such, we provide a quality education from the context of our Christian heritage for both traditional students as well as working professionals. To help our students find their purpose and achieve their full potential, we integrate our Christian worldview into everything we do. With God's grace, GCU has been cultivating a community of students, faculty, staff and alumni who care about each other - in an environment that places ethics and Christian values at the forefront of our educational experience. 

As a Christian University, it is our desire to help our students, both online and those living on campus, in their academic and spiritual journeys. Our hope is to intentionally provide opportunities for you to explore who Jesus is, grow in a relationship with Him, and ultimately become a co-laborer with Christ.

Grand Canyon University's Christian University position includes the following beliefs:

• We are seeking to understand God's truth through the lens of our Christian faith.
• All people are created in the image of God and therefore all people are valued.
• Being made in the image of God also means that each person is a free moral agent and chooses his or her values.
• All people have talents uniquely give to them by God.
• People's need for wholeness is met in Jesus Christ.
• God has a purpose for our lives and He prepares and calls us to that purpose.
• God's love compels us to build community in harmony with all people.

Because we are a Christian University, ministry is an important component of our student experience. Our students make friends with others who have the same values and encourage each other to live out their faith. GCU offers a variety of experiences that serve to strengthen the faith of our students, including: 

Worship Services:  Weekly chapel services provide an opportunity for GCU staff, faculty and students to come together to worship. Additionally, theGathering is a weekly service for students. Both chapel services and theGathering are served by the worship committee, which is made up of students who plan each service.

Small Groups:  Small groups throughout campus provide students with the opportunity to study the Bible and connect on a deeper level with their peers. These groups are student-led.

Leadership Development:  There are a number of opportunities for students to acquire leadership development experience, which include serving as life leaders, on ministry teams or on the pastor's commission.

One-on-One Discipleship: The Spiritual Life staff is committed to providing one-on-one discipleship opportunities, whether with a staff person or a trained and experienced student leader.
