The College of Arts and Sciences is the foundational college at Grand Canyon University and contains majors in a variety of fields. This College is comprised of liberal arts degrees and healthcare degrees.
Liberal Arts Degree Programs
On the Arts side of the College, liberal arts degrees are offered in social sciences, communications, humanities, and Christian studies. In addition to preparing students for a broad range of careers, students are also prepared to think critically and live as responsible leaders in the community. What students accomplish after graduation is important, but we're even more interested in the kind of person a student will become because of his/her GCU experience. Liberal arts degree programs at GCU focus on training the body, mind and spirit for a rewarding life and professional career.
These programs present students with theoretical perspectives that examine the workings of the human mind, cultural diversity and the integration of faith and discipline. In addition, liberal arts degrees facilitate opportunities for the application of knowledge through internships, study abroad, and faith-based outreach around the world.
Healthcare Degree Programs
On the Sciences side of the College, the healthcare degree programs address the healthcare industry's rapidly-growing need for an increased workforce and educational opportunities to support advancement. Graduates from the Grand Canyon University's healthcare degree programs can be confident that they have received a premier level of academic achievement, providing them with the knowledge and values necessary to be among the top critically-thinking healthcare professionals, global citizens, effective communicators and responsible leaders.
GCU's healthcare degree programs offer a blend of classroom instruction and clinical experience designed for the optimum preparation of students for careers in this field. These courses of study will prepare students for eligibility to meet the requirements of the Board of Certification, national certifications in the commercial health and fitness industry, State Board of Education Certification or endorsement in physical education, health education, or athletic coaching.
Whether you are interested in entry into a career in the health care industry, preparation for graduate studies in medicine or career advancement opportunities, Grand Canyon University has a healthcare degree program you need to shape your future.
