Earn Your DBA Degree and Gain the Skills for Career Advancement
Grand Canyon University's Doctor of Business Administration online degree is a practitioner's degree, targeted at a variety of audiences. Beyond the traditional business executive, oftentimes individuals in health care or education wish to earn a DBA degree in order to gain the contemporary business knowledge and skills needed to move into advanced management or administrator roles within their respective field.
Learners in the DBA degree not only study the domestic business environment, but also explore the global marketplace. From concepts and theories about fostering and leading an organization in a change environment, to emerging issues in financial management, this program prepares graduates for the global marketplace and economy. Additional topics explored include how to manage the expectations of stakeholders while being sensitive to cultural, legal and ethical differences as well as social responsibility and global marketing issues.
The Journey of Earning Your Doctor of Business Administration Degree
Earning a doctoral degree online while juggling professional and life demands can be challenging. That is why GCU has developed the DBA online program with this in mind - each of our 8-week courses is completed online with a group of peers. During the program, two in-person residencies allow learners to connect with their peers, instructors and the doctoral graduation team. Unlike many programs where the dissertation process begins after the coursework ends, our innovative approach is designed for learners to begin their dissertation ideation from the first class.
Throughout the DBA degree journey, learners progressively build the skills and understanding necessary to research, write and finally defend their dissertation. This allows many learners to streamline their Doctor of Business Administration degree timeline.
Resources for Doctoral Learners
The College of Doctoral Studies has a comprehensive support structure, ensuring learners have the tools necessary to meet their educational goals. As such, the DBA online program offers a variety of resources, developed to help our learners succeed. Many of the expert doctoral faculty members have over 20 years of experience in their respective fields and are selected based on their strong academic foundation combined with substantial real-world experience. In addition, the College of Doctoral Studies offers a unique online learning platform called the DC Network® (Doctoral Community Network), which allows learners to connect with other scholars and collaborate on similar research interests and resources pertaining to their dissertation topic.
Grand Canyon University also has a Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching (CIRT) which was developed to encourage excellence in research and teaching. CIRT has developed several journals, conferences and collaborative circles that doctoral learners have the opportunity to participate in. The Emerging Scholar-Practitioners Conference is held in conjunction with the doctoral residency and allows learners to present the ideas and research of their dissertation.
