As a doctoral college, our mission is to create a unique experience that supports you through your doctoral journey. You are not alone in this journey and will be connected with faculty members and learners through both in-person and online networks that support you along the way. There are a variety of resources available to you:
The Doctoral Community (DC) Network
The DC Network (Doctoral Community Network) is a vibrant online learning community that allows scholars to create and share content related to their respective discipline with other learners and faculty members at Grand Canyon University. Interactive communication, instant notification of new content, and indexed search functionality enable collaboration and connection among individuals with similar academic interests.
Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching (CIRT)
The Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching (CIRT) fosters a culture of critical reflection to promote innovation in teaching, learning and research. The CIRT community also provides research, mentoring and facilitates the Scholarly Engagement and Research Grant program. Designed to support innovations in research, teaching and creative work, the program offers individual and collaborative research grants to support faculty and student research, teaching and professional engagement in all disciplines.
Throughout the doctoral journey, you will collaborate with other doctoral learners as well as faculty and staff during two 4-day residencies. These residencies offer doctoral learners the opportunity to meet and collaborate with faculty members, other doctoral learners and the doctoral graduation team. In addition to intensive seminars, learners will also gain experience presenting on their own dissertation topic, as well as learn from the presentations of their colleagues.
