GCU's Partnership with the Rodel Foundation of Arizona

Grand Canyon University's College of Education has established a partnership with the Rodel Foundation of Arizona. Through Rodel's Promising Student Teacher program, eligible students can apply for placement with a Rodel Exemplary Teacher.

HeRodel Foundation of Arizonare is how the program works:
  • Each year the Rodel Foundation honors a new group of the most effective educators in high-need schools. These Rodel Exemplary Teachers are selected for their exceptional teaching skills and ability to mentor student teachers.
  • The College of Education will name a limited number of Rodel Promising Student Teachers each semester to student teach with these Rodel Exemplary Teachers - an opportunity to learn from the best.
  • Rodel student teachers receive a $1,000.00 college tuition waiver from GCU while student teaching, and a final award of $5,000.00 from Rodel after teaching in a qualifying school for three consecutive years.
GCU highly encourages AZ based students to apply to be a Rodel Promising Student Teacher. Eligible students can learn more about this opportunity and download the application form here. If you would like to be considered for this fantastic opportunity, please complete the application and return it to the College of Education no later than October 1 for student teaching in Spring; and March 1, for student teaching in Fall.
