How has facilitating online courses at GCU helped you find your purpose?

Facilitating online courses at GCU has helped me find my purpose by enabling me to work with culturally diverse students in a variety of locales. I enjoy helping nurses achieve their goals of becoming effective nurse educators, and applying their knowledge and skills to promote quality education for future nurses.

What is one effective teaching strategy you use in your online classes?

One effective teaching strategy I use is the Socratic method of questioning - I like to rephrase student comments into a question for all - resulting in discussions that are enlightening for both my students and me.

What is a GCU online student success story you can share?

One nursing student was in the middle of her nursing education practicum when she received diagnoses with metastatic cancer. Despite the devastating diagnosis and resulting chemotherapy, she was able to complete her practicum due to the flexibility of GCU's online platform. She is definitely an inspiration to me.
