Dr. Julie Nelson earned her Ph.D in Applied Social Psychology and M.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University. Prior, she received her B.S. in Journalism from Texas Women's University. Currently, Dr. Nelson is Content Chair for the Ph.D Psychology program and Office of Doctoral Studies at Grand Canyon University. In this role, Julie develops doctorial course curriculum, oversees the operations of two online Ph.D. programs, teaches doctoral courses, serves as dissertation committee member, and supervises faculty. Dr. Nelson values the personal relationships she has made with students over the past 11 years of her teaching career. She is devoted to teaching students to critically examine psychological literature, including the methodology, results, and interpretation of results to determine whether they can take the claims at face value. Dr. Julie Nelson ensures that students know she is concerned about their learning and their life paths as individuals. Her non-academic interests include spending time with her family, golfing, hiking, traveling, watching baseball or golf, and reading.
