Following his doctoral work in experimental surface physics using various microscope techniques, Dr. Klaus Mortensen continued as an experimental Research Fellow at Brookhaven National Laboratory for three years. Following this endeavor, he left experimental research to pursue a calling to teach the next generation. Dr. Mortensen has instructed high school and post-secondary science students since 1993. His current interest is developing and implementing successful methodologies in science education. Dr. Mortensen believes that science courses are uniquely poised to develop high-level critical thinking skills in the students. His instruction is inquiry-driven and modeled after research methods.
