GCU offers a variety of scholarships for students to help support their educational goals*. Scholarships, unlike student loans, do not need to be repaid and can be obtained by meeting scholarship criteria, applying for the scholarship, and becoming the successful recipient. In addition to your academic achievements, many applications require detailed resumes, personal statements, essays and competitive interview processes. Depending on the number of other applicants, the process can be very competitive.
Because scholarships can help to lessen a student's financial burden, GCU provides excellent resources to students to help them maximize their scholarship opportunities.
Scholarships are awarded based on one or more of the following criteria:
Some Scholarships have specific requirements or conditions that must be met, and many are renewable each year.
On Campus Scholarships
On-campus scholarships are administered by the Financial Aid Office, academic colleges, various campus departments and associations. These are available for both incoming and/or continuing students and are generally awarded based on financial need, merit, leadership, talent and community service. Some scholarships may require a GPA of 2.0 or higher and enrollment criteria may vary by each scholarship.
Remember, scholarships are only part of your potential financial aid package. Eligibility for grants, loans, federal work study and some campus-specific scholarships is based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Consult the financial aid office at your campus for more information or fill out the FAFSA online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
*Prospective students should speak with a financial counselor to better understand which financing options are available for specific degree programs.
