The Phoenix Police Department and Grand Canyon University announce $1 million partnership
GCU and Phoenix PD pledge to work together to suppress crime in the neighborhood
around the campus of the private, Christian university

Grand Canyon University, Councilman Daniel Valenzuela and the Phoenix Police Department are hosting a joint news conference to announce the formation of the Neighborhood Safety Initiative. GCU and Phoenix Police Department have both pledged $100,000 per year for five years to create a stronger police presence from 43rd Avenue to I-17 and from Bethany Home Road to Indian School Road. This initiative has been spearheaded by the partnership of Councilman Daniel Valenzuela and GCU. It is the first agreement of its kind between a public agency and private company in Arizona aiming to suppress crime in a particular neighborhood. |
