Exciting Growth on GCU’s Campus

Grand Canyon University continues to expand in incredible ways.  Most recently, GCU's flourishing campus has seen the debut of GCU Arena, a new Student Recreation Center, a classroom facility and offices for the College of Education, and a new student dining center complete with a 6-lane bowling alley called 'Thunder Alley'. Student housing on campus continues to grow as well, with the debut of Canyon Hall in 2010 and Prescott Hall, which opened in the fall of 2011.

GCU is growing again in 2012!  Keep an eye out on campus for the following exciting construction projects.

College of Arts and Sciences building - Opening Fall 2012

Construction teams have already broke ground on the new College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) building, located right in the center of campus.  The building will stand tall at four-stories with the first floor devoted to Christian Studies and the Office of Spiritual Life.  Additionally, modern Science and Nursing labs will be housed in the new building, including a DNA analysis lab to be utilized by students pursuing a degree in Forensic Science.

"This building will represent the mind, body and spirit of everything we do on campus," CAS Dean Mark Wooden told those assembled for a brief ceremony. "It will be the academic heart of this University."

Two New Dorms! Camelback Hall and Sedona Hall - Opening Fall 2012
Construction of both Camelback Hall and Sedona Hall is expected to commence in the early part of 2012.  The new student housing halls will be modeled after the newest and most popular dorm, Prescott Hall, which has earned rave reviews from students on campus.   Camelback and Sedona will feature suite-style living with personal bathrooms, as well as study, laundry and gathering rooms.  Other features include snack bars, barbecue grills and a landscaped courtyard - all within a short walking distance of GCU Arena, Student Union, Thunder Alley, the intramural field, and several other campus amenities.
