Grand Canyon University expands business degree offerings
Bachelor of Science in Business Management offered online and on campus
PHOENIX (March 30, 2011) -To satisfy the increased demand for higher education to help make individuals more marketable in a new economy, Grand Canyon University (GCU) has added a Bachelor of Science in Business Management to its curriculum offerings.
"A degree in business management provides a strong foundation for those who are already in the workforce and want to improve their status, or for those who are considering an entrepreneurial venture," said GCU Dean of the Ken Blanchard College of Business Kevin Barksdale.
The new degree is currently offered online, with new class starts every two weeks. The degree will be offered on GCU's Phoenix campus beginning with the fall semester.
"Our business curriculum focuses not only on the basics of accounting, finance and marketing, but is also grounded in strong moral values - an emphasis that is desperately needed as we foster the growth of a new generation of professionals who are prepared to operate in a post-recessionary economy," Barksdale said.
GCU's Ken Blanchard College of Business offers a variety of educational options to serve a diverse student base, ranging from traditional undergraduates on campus to corporate executives and military personnel. The school's academic programs also include degree completion programs, graduate degrees, an executive MBA program and customized corporate MBA programs. The College espouses the same values in servant leadership, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit as its renowned namesake, Ken Blanchard.
