Two Grand Canyon University students in the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions have been named student liaisons to the board of directors of Arizona Healthcare Executives.
Aurel Dan and Claudia Dobos will serve on the board in 2013, representing Arizona's chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Dan, who is studying for his master's in public health and completed his bachelor's degree in health care administration at GCU, also served on the board in 2012. In October, he was awarded the AHE student scholarship, which was given to only two students by the local chapter.
Dobos is working toward her bachelor's degree in health care administration at Grand Canyon.
Danae Farrell, an assistant professor of health care administration at GCU and past president of AHE, said the two will be part of monthly meetings for the board of directors and gain valuable experience in the health care industry.
"There are a lot of benefits for our students," Farrell said. "They will represent the student membership, be involved in regular education events and benefit by networking and getting to know the local health care industry."
