Grand Canyon University is in the midst of an exciting campus expansion project that is adding a variety of residence halls, classroom buildings, dining facilities and student amenities to the 110-acre campus in the heart of Phoenix. In the past three years, GCU has invested more than $200 million into the campus and $80 million in technology.
From 2010 to 2011, GCU debuted a new Student Recreation Center; a College of Education classroom building; a new student dining and recreation facility that features a six-lane bowling alley; two new residence halls; and the centerpiece project on campus – the 5,000-seat GCU Arena, which hosts GCU men’s and women’s basketball games, concerts, and other athletic and community events.
This fall, GCU students returned to campus to find even more enhancements, including:
College of Arts and Sciences classroom building
Located at the center of campus, the College of Arts and Sciences building is home to the faculty and staff for the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Theology and the Office of Spiritual Life.
The four-story building features a variety of traditional classrooms and nursing and science labs, including a DNA analysis lab. Students are able to utilize a collaborative study area or one of several private study rooms, which are conveniently integrated throughout the building.
Camelback Hall and Sedona Hall
Two new student residence halls have opened, modeled after our most popular dorm, Prescott Hall. Students enjoy suite-style living with personal bathrooms, as well as study, laundry and gathering rooms. Other features include snack bars, barbecue grills and a landscaped courtyard - all within a short walking distance of GCU Arena, the Student Union, Thunder Alley, the intramural field, and several other campus amenities.
New Parking
A new four-story parking garage is located just beyond the main entrance to campus on Camelback Road. Just steps away from the promenade, the GCU Arena and the Antelope Reception Center, the garage serves students, staff and visitors.

Grand Canyon University has even more campus expansion plans for the next year, including a second parking garage, a new residence hall with a swimming pool, and further expansion of the Student Union.
