College of Fine Arts Programs

If you have an interest in pursuing a career in the arts, Grand Canyon University offers a variety of fine arts programs in theatre, music (voice and piano) and digital film with emphases in screenwriting and production.

Perhaps you are more interested in teaching in a fine arts field rather than performing yourself? GCU also offers degrees in theatre education, dance education and music education that will prepare you to teach in the K-12 setting, as well as teach private lessons. The dance education, music education and theatre education programs include field experience and a 16-week student teaching experience, in order to prepare students to take their state certification exam.

Grand Canyon University has produced some outstanding actors, musicians and fine arts teachers through the years, including some who have participated in broadway shows and two who have won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions competition in New York City.

GCU's fine arts programs pride themselves on having a small student/teacher ratio. Another advantage of GCU's fine arts programs is that they are designed to offer students a well-rounded education covering everything from communications to business and the social sciences.

Our unique fine arts programs take the instruction beyond theory to provide students with the opportunity to be involved in theatre performances, music concerts and ensembles, and dance performances. Those individuals majoring in digital film also have the opportunity to work backstage during performances, providing them with practical knowledge in this field.
