Missions

Missions

Grand Canyon University is pleased to offer a variety of Mission Opportunities to our students. Missions can range from a weekend experience to a local community to longer trips to different countries. All missions are developed with the goal that our students become global citizens.

Examples of past missions include:

  • Navajo Indian Reservation - delivering needed supplies and turkeys for the holiday season.
  • Honduras - planting and building churches, feeding kitchens, and nurseries in collaboration with local missionaries.
  • Dominican Republic - Mission participants worked in a ministry-focused setting based on their college emphasis; dentistry, education, health care, media, physical therapy, social work, special education and sports.
  • Germany - Ministry was accomplished by helping career missionaries in the country, which includes some manual labor to help maintain their facility at a 17th century castle. The ministry will focus on area teens who are pressured into alcoholism and drugs and American military bases in the area.

Students are required to raise the majority of the funds for the mission trips. The Office of Spiritual Life has prepared a guide with helpful ways to raise the money needed.

Students may have friends or family members who are interested in sponsoring them to participate on a mission trip. Download this Sponsorship Form and turn it into the Office of Spiritual Life.
