Delta Alpha Pi

Grand Canyon University would like to introduce an Academic Honor Society to the GCU community. Delta Alpha Pi was established in 2004 with a presence in 42 colleges nationwide. This honor society, however, has been founded with a unique purpose.

"Because of the negative stereotyping associated with disability, students with disabilities have been reluctant to identify themselves publicly. Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society presents an opportunity to change that perception by recognizing students with disabilities for their academic accomplishments"
(Delta Alpha Pi Preamble).

Delta Alpha Pi recognizes academic accomplishments of college and university students with disabilities, to facilitate the development of leadership and advocacy skills, and provide opportunities for members to serve as mentors and role models.

The implementation of this Honor Society will provide GCU the opportunity to be the first university in Arizona to bring Delta Alpha Pi to its campus and online students.
