GCU scholarships - 2006

Army ROTC Scholarship

If you are interested in receiving a scholarship (tuition, fees, books, and monthly stipend for living expenses worth more than $20,000 per year) along with some of the best leadership training available, Army ROTC may be right for you. Four-Year Scholarship

High school students applying for the 4-year scholarship should log onto www.armyrotc.com and follow the 4-year scholarship link.  For more information, contact the GCU ROTC Scholarship Officer.

Two-, Three-, and Four-Year Scholarships

Current college students may apply for a scholarship based on the time remaining to complete their degree by contacting the GCU ROTC Scholarship Officer.

Academic Excellence Scholarship Information

You may be among a distinguished group of students eligible to apply for the Academic Excellence Scholarship at Grand Canyon University.  If selected for this scholarship, you will receive $2000 per year to attend Grand Canyon University.  This scholarship is renewable for the full four years at Grand Canyon University provided you are selected as a scholarship winner and satisfy the renewal criteria listed in the Grand Canyon University Catalog. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is May.

Christian Service Scholarship Information

The purpose of the Christian Service Scholarship (CSS) is to develop Christian student leaders through the various Grand Canyon University ministries so that greater ministry impact can be achieved in the GCU, local, and global communities. Scholarship assistance will be provided to selected full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing with the University. These students will represent GCU and fully support its Mission, Guiding Principals, and Five Pillars in addition to the University’s Christian heritage.

Resident Aide Scholarship Information

The position offers an excellent opportunity for those interested in helping students solve their problems and meet the challenges of college life, as well as offering an opportunity to begin developing leadership and management skills and to stretch your spiritual growth.

The R.A. position offers great rewards of an intangible nature, but it is also one that makes great demands.  Successful candidates must demonstrate the maturity necessary to balance time commitments and to be a good role model to residents.  They must also demonstrate a concern for, and commitment to the development of people.  They must show stamina and perseverance.  In addition, successful candidates must have a strong desire for personal growth. Several mandatory meetings and deadlines are listed at the bottom of this page.

If you have any questions, feel free to talk to your R.A., Resident Director, or the Director of Residence Life, or come by the Office of Residence Life.  Any Residence Life staff member would welcome the opportunity to answer questions about any leadership position.

The selection/interview process includes an individual interview with Residence Life staff, a group interview/activity with other applicants, and an evaluation of application and references.

Scholarship for Hegel Hall RA’s is full room and board for Fall and Spring semesters.  Scholarship for North Rim Apartment RA’s is up to $2,500 per year for apartment residential costs.

The application deadline for positions is January.

ASGCU Representative Scholarship Information

ASGCU Representative Scholarship is a scholarship open to all current and new students who desire to serve the student body in their student government through leadership, community building and ownership in student activities.  Each ASGCU Rep will be required to serve on one of the 6 below committees:

 

Scholarship Requirements:  Students are required to serve the ASGCU for 120 hours per semester. Scholarship:  $2,000 per year ($1,000 per Fall and $1,000 per Spring semester) The application deadline for positions is March.

ASGCU Cabinet Scholarship Information - ASGCU Cabinet Scholarship is a scholarship open to all current students who desire to serve the student body in their student government through leadership, community building and ownership in student activities.  Cabinet Positions are:

Scholarship: 
President:            $2,500 per year plus 50% of room and board in Hegel Hall or up to $2,500 in the North Rim Apartments
Vice President:    $2,500 per year plus 50% of room and board in Hegel Hall
All others:            $2,000 per year plus 50% of room and board in Hegel
Scholarships CANNOT be combined with other GCU scholarships.

The application deadline for positions is March.

Men’s and Women’s Athletics Grants-in-Aide

The amounts vary by scholarship.  Please contact the appropriate coach for scholarship requirements.
