Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Leadership

Grand Canyon University's EdD in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Leadership prepares graduates to examine, select and integrate solutions to practical problems in leading K-12 institutions.

With a focus on K-12 educational leadership, doctoral scholars will study the history and politics as well as the governance and structures found within the K-12 educational structure. Learners will also examine how to build a community and discuss the current trends and issues in K-12 education with emerging leadership strategies.

The mission of Grand Canyon University is to develop learners who are global citizens, critical thinkers and responsible leaders. As such, the EdD in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Leadership will examine topics such as ethical dilemmas and stewardship, corporate social responsibility from the perspective of ethical decision making, and will study the development and evolution of leadership theories.

For those seeking a doctoral level degree designed for those in education administration roles, you may also want to consider these programs:

  • Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Special Education
  • Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Higher Education Leadership
  • Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Organizational Development

For some individuals, a doctoral degree may seem out of reach. At Grand Canyon University, we have developed a program that includes an integrated dissertation process as well as a dynamic community that supports you along your doctoral journey.

Unlike many programs where learners are expected to complete a core set of specializations prior to beginning their dissertation; at GCU learners begin the dissertation process from the beginning of their program of study. From the very first course where learners are introduced to the doctoral dispositions, through subsequent residencies and milestones, scholars progressively build the skills and understanding necessary to research, write the results and, finally, defend their dissertation.

This is one journey learners will not take alone. A robust learning community supports doctoral learners along the way that includes other learners, dissertation chairs, methodologists and committee members.

GCU's formative approach to the dissertation process is supported by expert faculty, professional staff, academic counselors and distinctive resources, making the dissertation journey at GCU worth taking.
