The Master of Arts in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Christian Leadership is a program designed for individuals who desire to lead as Christians in their arenas of influence, be they secular, religious, professional or personal. Individuals interested in this MA in Christian Leadership may work as church pastors, deacons, elders or administrators. Others who may pursue this program work in the secular world and want to earn their MA in Christian Leadership to develop as Christian leaders within their business field or because they have a passion for leading a small group or Bible study. This program requires a total of 38 credits and may be taken online, or at one of our campus locations.
The MA in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Christian Leadership prepares students with biblical and theological knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge in leadership settings. This program teaches how to lead a Christian group through crises. It also provides a comprehensive study of Christianity through a variety of perspectives based on culture, as well as a study of spiritual formation. Coursework includes a study of spiritual growth and the major doctrines of Christianity including the doctrines of revelation, God, humanity, and the world. Topics of study also include the theological structures and themes of the Old and New Testament historical and literary documents.
