The Master of Arts in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Urban Ministry is ideal for anyone with a heart for the city, who is interested in serving and ministering in urban locations. Inner cities can present a unique set of issues and circumstances; graduates of this program are prepared to address these specific challenges and guide and council the members of this community. This program is also appropriate for those interested in working at a suburban church with an outreach to urban church counterparts, those who wish to work for a non-profit, or individuals interested in starting their own non-profit ministry in an urban setting. This program requires a total of 38 credits and may be taken online, or at one of our campus locations.
The MA in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Urban Ministry prepares students with biblical and theological knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge in leadership settings. Coursework includes a study of spiritual growth, the doctrines of revelation, God, humanity, and the world. Topics of study also include the theological structures and themes of the Old and New Testament historical and literary documents.
For those who are looking to lead in urban settings, our master‛s degree with an emphasis in Urban Ministry will examine how the church‛s mission expresses itself in an urban setting and the ethical implications of ministering in an urban setting.
