Biography

Dr. Deborah Rickey is the Office of Dissertations Director for the College of Doctoral Studies at Grand Canyon University. Debbie received her Ph.D. in Education, from Capella University, M.S. in Education and Standard Administrative License from Portland State University, and her B.A. in Communication Arts/Language Arts Education, from George Fox University. Dr. Rickey's interests are in professional development, K-12 education, leadership, educational change, and adult learning. Her expertise in the education field is extensive and varied, holding positions as a teacher, college professor and administrator at various institutions both at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Deborah continues to publish writings and give presentations relating to her field. She also plays an active role in her community's educational development and promotes on-going professional growth for teachers. In addition, Debbie enjoys spending time with her children and three young grandchildren. She also enjoys theater; both acting and directing at the university and community college level.
