Lori Soukup began teaching at Grand Canyon University in 2009 and became full-time faculty in the fall of 2010. She has taught online and on-ground for the University of Phoenix in Las Vegas since 1999. She also taught accounting at the Community College of Southern Nevada for 6 years. In addition to teaching, Lori currently owns a consulting business in farmland investments and is building a log home in her native Iowa. Prior to teaching, Lori owned a motel, restaurant and lounge in Iowa for nearly 11 years. She divides her time among homes in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Iowa. Lori earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Next, Lori earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Ph.D. in Management/Finance through Walden University. In addition to being a life-long learner, Lori is a golfer, intermediate level skier, slow-and-steady runner, people-person, and lover of life. Lori and her husband have been married for 14 years.
