Tim Tracy grew up in Hartford, Connecticut and graduated from Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school, he began his career as an RN in the emergency room of Hartford Hospital, a 1,000 bed acute care teaching hospital. He was soon promoted to Assistant Head Nurse and then shortly promoted again to Nursing Supervisor over the Medical/Surgical Specialties Division. He worked at Hartford Hospital for 9 years before moving to Phoenix and began his career at Good Samaritan Medical Center as a Nursing Director. Tim returned to school and earned a BS in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. He then graduated from Golden Gate University earning his MPA in Health Service Management. Tim worked at Good Samaritan for 6 years until accepting a position as Vice President for Patient Care Services at John C. Lincoln Health Network.
He had worked at John C. Lincoln for the past 22 years and has held the following positions; CNO, COO, CEO for John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital and Executive Vice President for the John C. Lincoln Health Network. Tim achieved his standing with the American College of Health Care Executives as a Delegate and Certified Health Care Executive and remains active in the College. Tim retired his position in August of 2008, and found a meaningful second career at GCU. Teaching at GCU has afforded Tim the opportunity to apply his Executive Health Care skills and experience in a worthwhile way. His knowledge of the overall Health Care System, as well as his clinical perspective are helping to foster and develop innovative Health Administrative and Service Programs at GCU.
