Debra Haber earned a BSN from Baylor University, an MS from the University of Arizona, 1993, and is currently completing a post-master's ANP/GNP certificate at UMass - Boston. The focus of her master's program research centered on community health; more specifically, exploring the relationship between exercise and self-esteem. The first thirteen years of Debra's career focused on the care of patients in the ICU and ED settings. The next nine years included direct patient care and the management of a patient hemodialysis and the education of staff in this process. Debra joined GCU in 2008 teaching pharmacology in the pre-licensure BSN program. Currently, she teaches pharmacology, adult health, and research in Tucson while maintaining her clinical experience at Kindred Hospital by caring for patients in the ICU.
Debra loves seeing her students learn and become enthusiastic about their learning. Her goal is to facilitate student learning through the acquisition of individual skills necessary to be successful. Her personal passion is the study of dressage and cultivating relationships with her horses. Debra and her husband also enjoy surfing, hiking, gardening, and yoga.
