Biography

Zari Le'on is an artist-scholar who has taught and choreographed at University of San Francisco, Middlebury College and the University of Michigan where she earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance on a Rackham Merit Fellowship. Zari formed Zari Le'on Dance Theater (ZLDT) in San Francisco in 2003 and has been researching, creating, publishing and performing under the auspices of ZLDT throughout North America, Greece and Mexico. Zari teaches a unique form of dance titled "Contemporary Vernacular" which is a fusion of Dunham Technique, Yoga and vernacular dance including Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop.
