The philosophy that leading soldiers lends itself well to leading civilians is linked directly to the universality of strategic planning. Teaching, like serving, is a passion for Dr. Randall. Helping students succeed by guiding them to find their own answers lies at the core of Dr. Randall's teaching style. In fact, he cites the old adage, "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime". Outside of his career, Erich enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit, boating, reading, and working around the house. As a soldier, he has travelled all over the world but claims that his home of Traverse City, Michigan is the most amazing of them all.
