Biography

Dr. Lori Houghtalen earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her B.S. in Industrial Engineering was awarded by the University of Tennessee. Dr. Houghtalen's research interests include using operations research methodologies to address collaboration challenges in the logistics industry. Before moving with her family to Arizona, Dr. Houghtalen was on the faculty at Babson College in Wellesely, MA where she was an Assistant Professor of Operations Research. Dr. Houghtalen enjoys teaching in the online environment because she wants students to get the best education possible, no matter the format. She encourages students to be proactive and accountable for their education. When she is not in the online classroom, Dr. Houghtalen enjoys being home with her 2 year-old son. Dr. Houghtalen's husband is a musician, and will be finishing his Doctorate in Wind Conducting at ASU in May.
