IAML/GCU’s Unique GiveBack Transitionsm Program
We are pleased to offer employers an opportunity to involve their employees in a unique GiveBack Transitionsm Program. This program assists qualified employees of a client organization to transition into new careers (with new employers, primarily in the “teaching” arena). It can also be utilized as a "retention tool" to provide an added incentive to key personnel. Here are the key elements of the program:
- The employer (client company) establishes a program whereby it agrees to offer all, or selected, employees an opportunity to enroll in GCU programs in order to prepare the employee for a new career. In most cases, it is expected the employee will pursue a teaching degree.
- Eligible employees would receive substantial reimbursement of all tuition, books and other miscellaneous costs (at the option of the employer) to earn a Master’s Degree in Education or an EdD in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, or other GCU degrees.
- Employees can then pursue teaching degrees/credentials for the elementary, high school and college levels, or entirely new careers.
- The employer would provide paid time-off, part-time work schedules, to complete any degree based requirements (such as student teaching assignments).
- “Exit arrangements” (career transitions, retirements or modified retention options) can be incorporated and negotiated as employees migrate into their new career.
The GiveBack Transitionsm Program offers several advantages:
- Provides employers with a flexible concept that can be used both to transition employees or to retain them.
- Demonstrates your commitment to the well-being of your employees.
- Demonstrates your commitment to the local communities and school districts in which you operate.
- Recognizes that many employees wish to “give back” to their communities by serving as teachers at all levels.
