With increased demand for year-round college classes, Grand Canyon University (GCU) has extended its summer programming and added a third six-week course to its online summer schedule, helping today's cost-conscious students expedite their degree pursuits and hit the workforce early.
"The sooner our students graduate, the sooner they'll be able to hit the job market, and in this economy that's what is driving student demand,” said GCU CEO Brian Mueller. "Thankfully we have the flexibility and the support of excellent faculty to make summer programming work."
GCU plans a third start of its six-week courses July 23 for graduate students and July 27 for undergraduate students, with a break the week of Labor Day.
GCU will also continue its $500 summer scholarship offer - available for any student enrolling in summer courses who plans to continue their studies in the fall - as well as the opportunity for additional financial aid throughout the year based on academic performance.
GCU offers competitive tuition rates for both online and traditional campus students that in some cases is nearly half of the national average for private college tuition. Its regional accreditation is an attractive feature for students located out-of-state who desire a rich academic experience from a credible institution. GCU was recently recognized by an online learning systems provider for its robust online curriculum.
