Grand Canyon University offers dual enrollment opportunities, providing students with an affordable and efficient way to gain a head start on their college degree while still in high school. Students may participate in dual enrollment classes one of three ways:
- Attend class at your high school during the regular school day. Classes are taught by qualified high school instructors using GCU curriculum and text.
- Attend class online in a cohort with students from your school. Classes are taught by GCU faculty.
- Attend class online with other GCU students. Classes are taught by GCU faculty.
GCU is committed to ensuring that your students experience the same level of instruction, resources and rigor that our traditional student body receives so they will be well prepared to move to the next academic level of study when they enter college.
Student Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior in high school
- 15 years of age or older
- 2.8 GPA or higher (students with a GPA of 2.5 - 2.8 may be accepted with school recommendation)
- Complete a GCU dual enrollment admissions form
Instructor Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the secondary or college level
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 18 upper division credits in the subject area
- May need additional requirements depending on the subject area
Credits and Costs
Grand Canyon University's 100 and 200 level courses are 4 credits. Dual enrollment tuition is $210 for the course, or $52.50 per credit. Textbook costs vary by course.
Transferability
It is up to the receiving university to determine whether to accept credits for transfer. GCU is regionally accredited, so in general, universities that accept transfer credits should accept ours; however, it is at the discretion of the receiving school.
