The Canyon Worship 2017 album took the school by storm and was a great follow-up to the first Canyon Worship 2016. The talent within the Center for Worship Arts at Grand Canyon University is something that everyone should be proud of. It’s full of great messages, a collection of voices, different genres and the Holy Spirit filtering through it all.

Now, the Canyon Worship 2018 is here! Released on September 10, the worship album can be found on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Shazam and in the Lope Shop on campus. As the third installment, it holds different styles featuring the creative and talented students of Grand Canyon University.

We got the chance to speak to Logan Myers who is on the 2018 album. She used to be a high school cheerleader and now-turned singer. At first she started in Elementary Education but then followed God’s calling for her to Worship Arts. Check out our interview below and get to know her!

What song did you write on the album?

I wrote “My Only Truth” and got to sing it on the album. I also got to be featured on the song “Hear Me.”

What are you passionate about?

Music is definitely my number one passion. I also love songwriting, writing in general, blogging, and just getting my feelings out through writing.

What do you hope listeners get from the album?

I hope that these songs will speak to people and that they will be able to relate to the lyrics. I know each artist on the album puts dedication and prayer to the songs.

When did you first know you wanted to pursue music as a career?

This year actually. I started as an Elementary Education major. However, I knew this wasn’t where I was meant to be so after some prayer, I switched to music.

How do you use music to speak the word of the Lord?

I put the struggles and things we all go through in a lyrically, beautiful way. It makes the hard situations everyone goes through beautiful and brings everyone together. It also makes it acceptable to be where you’re at. God gave me this talent and I’m using it to honor Him.

What got you started in music?

I was a cheerleader my whole life until I got injured and decided to do music in my junior year of high school. I play guitar, piano and write music.
