Master of Education in Educational Administration Advanced Program for Principal Licensure

The Master of Education in Educational Administration program is designed for individuals interested in educational administration in the PK-12 setting and those seeking a principal's license. Graduates of the master‛s in educational administration program are well-prepared to be informed educational administrators in public and private schools and other settings requiring a principal's license.

Students enrolled in this program will focus on topics such as educational administration foundation and framework, educational leadership, data-driven decisions for school improvement, legal issues in education, public school finance, supervision and instructional leadership, and curriculum development for school improvement. This master‛s in educational administration program also includes a study of principalship, which explores important critical issues currently facing school principals, including the challenge of attracting and retaining a quality work force in education, while also meeting the myriad of district and state policies and laws.

An action research component is embedded in the courses throughout this program and a 16-week, 270-hour administrative internship culminates the program. This internship does not require you to take a leave from your current teaching position and typically can be accomplished on site by shadowing your current principal or other administrator.

The Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) and the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) standards form the foundation of this regionally accredited and Arizona-approved program of study. Applicants for this master‛s in educational administration program must submit a copy of a current teaching license and provide documentation of two years of certified teaching experience.
