Discover Grand Canyon University

Welcome to Grand Canyon University! Founded in 1949, we have grown from a faith-based college that graduated primarily teachers and nurses to a comprehensive Christ-centered national university with 10 colleges, including a growing Ingram Honors College. GCU’s approach to education is premised on an intersection of faith and the free markets. We believe that human flourishing emerges most powerfully when free market principles and Christian values are intentionally integrated. We focus on helping students find their purpose through a wide variety of flexible programs to serve both working adults and traditional students, from undergraduate studies to doctoral degree programs.

A Distinctive Approach to Higher Education

GCU approaches higher education with a commitment to expanding opportunity, equipping students for meaningful careers and developing leaders of character. Through flexible, comprehensive learning pathways, responsible use of emerging technologies and a passionate campus community rooted in shared values, we create an experience designed to prepare graduates for lasting impact.

Accessible, Transformative Education

We are grounded in Christian truth, championing freedom of speech and encouraging open, respectful discourse while fostering moral and spiritual development. Our commitment to affordability helps ensure that students from all socioeconomic backgrounds can access transformative education, equipping them not only to compete but also to lead and serve others through transformational servant leadership.

Ethical Innovation With AI

We are boldly focused on redefining the creation and execution of higher education. As a disruptive catalyst in higher education, GCU is entrepreneurial and innovative, with programs purpose-built for today’s challenges. Central to this commitment is cultivating artificial intelligence (AI) awareness, helping students not only know how to use emerging technologies but also understand implications, limitations and ethical responsibility in the use of AI. We view AI as a tool to uplift people, not replace them — promoting human dignity, fairness and transparency while aligning with biblical principles of stewardship and wisdom.

Purpose-Driven Student Culture

We have a culture of students owning their learning and dedicating themselves to excellence and we are here to support and partner with you on your academic journey. Our faculty are committed to you, will challenge you and foster an intellectual curiosity as you move through your coursework with hands-on, experiential learning. This is Purpose Driven Education, a renaissance where students move at the speed of relevance, prepared for a life that leads, serves and transforms. At GCU, you can deepen your faith, foster truth and cultivate Christian virtues.

Find Your Purpose at GCU
