2023-24 tuition rates for all courses beginning May 1, 2023.
It is the policy of GCU to collect and remit sales, use, excise and/or gross receipts taxes in compliance with state and local taxing jurisdiction regulations, which require the university to remit tax where applicable. Regulations vary by student location. Payment of tax is ultimately the student's financial responsibility to the university regardless of financing arrangements. Per Hawaii requirements: It is hereby stated that students residing in the State of Hawaii will be charged Hawaii General Excise Tax on all transactions. Students living in the District of Oahu will be charged 4.712 percent. Students residing in other Hawaii districts will be charged 4.1666 percent.

PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision
This program requires completion of a minimum of 65 credits, which will take a minimum of 45 months. Students who have not received final approval of a dissertation at the completion of those credits must enroll in Research Continuation courses until they have completed an approved dissertation. Research Continuation courses are three-credit courses, charged at the same per-credit tuition rate as all other doctoral courses. Research Continuation courses, if necessary, will add to the cost and time to complete this program. This program had fewer than 10 graduates over the last five years. Therefore, GCU is providing data for all students who completed any GCU dissertation-based doctoral program between Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2022. Over that time, 1,943 doctoral graduates took an average of 5.9 years to complete all program requirements and required on average 10.9 Research Continuation courses to complete their dissertation. These program graduates paid an average of $50,896 in tuition and fees, including continuation courses, over the duration of their program. The maximum number of credits eligible for Title IV funding that a student can take in their initially enrolled program version, assuming they earn passing grades and otherwise remain eligible to receive Title IV funding, is 95.
PhD in General Psychology
This program requires completion of a minimum of 60 credits, which will take a minimum of 39 months. Students who have not received final approval of a dissertation at the completion of those credits must enroll in Research Continuation courses until they have completed an approved dissertation. Research Continuation courses are three-credit courses, charged at the same per-credit tuition rate as all other doctoral courses. Research Continuation courses, if necessary, will add to the cost and time to complete this program. Between Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2022, 727 students graduated from this program. Those students took average of 5.7 years to complete all program requirements and required on average 9.7 Research Continuation courses to complete their dissertation. This program requires completion of a minimum of 60 credits, which will take a minimum of 39 months. Students who have not received final approval of a dissertation at the completion of those credits must enroll in Research Continuation courses until they have completed an approved dissertation. Research Continuation courses are three-credit courses, charged at the same per-credit tuition rate as all other doctoral courses. EdD in Organizational Leadership
This program requires completion of a minimum of 60 credits, which will take a minimum of 39 months. Students who have not received final approval of a dissertation at the completion of those credits must enroll in Research Continuation courses until they have completed an approved dissertation. Research Continuation courses are three-credit courses, charged at the same per-credit tuition rate as all other doctoral courses. If you enroll in a master’s degree program through any of the College of Education or Secondary Education Emphasis degree programs offered online, Grand Canyon University will offer you 18% off the tuition per course for your program. This scholarship will be applied at the same time the tuition charges occur. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarships/awards. § MOU-Alumni 2000 Doctoral-Dec2023: The Alumni Scholarship for Doctoral Programs is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application and begin a Doctoral program in December 2023. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarship or awards and only applies to online and evening programs. Please speak to a university counselor for complete details.
† MOU 8925: New Student Holiday Scholarship is only valid for those applicants who submit a complete application, meet all requirements for acceptance and start their program in December 2023. If you enroll in a undergraduate, graduate, doctoral or certificate program (excluding the College of Nursing and Health Care Profession’s RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and accelerated BSN) through our online or evening cohort offerings, we will award you a $550 scholarship toward your tuition, which will be applied over your first academic year, as defined in the University Policy Handbook. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other GCU scholarship/awards, except the Persistence Credit, the Lifelong Learning Scholarship or the Military Veteran Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship will be applied toward your tuition only, and you will not receive funds in excess of your charges.
