Biography

Desiree Jackson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona who offers a calm, compassionate space where clients can feel truly seen, heard and safe to engage in meaningful growth. Her work is grounded in empathy, humility and genuine human connection, with a deep commitment to multiculturalism and honoring the lived experiences of diverse individuals and communities.
Desiree specializes in trauma, helping clients navigate emotional challenges, strengthen relationships and build lives aligned with their values. Her clinical approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for emotional regulation, along with Gottman-based tools to enhance communication and deepen connection.

In addition to her clinical work at Chapter & Page Counseling, Desiree serves as a clinical mental health faculty member at Grand Canyon University, where she teaches and mentors graduate students preparing to enter the counseling profession. She also provides licensure supervision across multiple counseling specialties, supporting the next generation of clinicians in their professional development.

As a scholar-practitioner, Desiree contributes to the counseling field through research, publication and presentations. Her work includes co-authoring Navigating microaggressions: Impacts on counselor professional identity development and instructional strategies for inclusivity (Young & Jackson, 2025), published in the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Teaching Practice Briefs.

Desiree earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys trail running, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
