Randy Gibb, PhD
Provost & Chief Academic Officer, Grand Canyon University
Randy Gibb, PhD, is the Provost & Chief Academic Officer of Grand Canyon University as of July 2022. Prior to that role, he was the Dean of the Colangelo College of Business at Grand Canyon University. He joined GCU in 2014 and led the mission to exemplify servant leadership and inspire GCU students to use business as ministry and business as a force for good.

Prior to Grand Canyon University, Dr. Gibb served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He retired as a Colonel in 2012 after a variety of operational aviation assignments, including commanding two flying units, one in Air Mobility Command and the other in Air Education and Training Command. His previous academic leadership roles in the military were Department Head at the U.S. Air Force Academy's Behavioral Science & Leadership Department and Senior Military Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering and Management, Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He’s also held the position Associate Professor and Chair of the Human & Environmental Systems Department in the College of Technology and Innovation at Arizona State University.

Dr. Gibb has extensive experience in leadership development, human factors engineering, aviation safety and visual spatial disorientation. He has published and presented in various academic journals and conferences on those topics. Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Gibb was a distinguished graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1986. He has a Master of Arts from the U.S. Naval Command & Staff College, and he earned his PhD and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, from Arizona State University.
