Professional Role -
Students who complete the Bridge to the Master of Science in Nursing examine the professional role of the nurse in greater depth in order to prepare them to study more advanced leadership topics and begin to assume the role of nurse leader in their graduate nursing courses and clinical or practicum experiences.

Students who complete the Bridge to the Master of Science in Nursing examine advanced concepts related to disease processes and nursing science and further refine their clinical decision making skills in preparation for the demands of graduate nursing studies.

• Comprehend nursing concepts and health theories.
• Understand and value the processes of critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and decision making.

Nursing Practice -
Students who complete the Bridge to the Master of Science in Nursing refine their clinical reasoning skills while using the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care.

• Utilize the nursing process to provide safe and effective care for patients across the health-illness continuum: promoting, maintaining, and restoring health; preventing disease; and facilitating a peaceful death.
• Implement patient care decisions based on evidence-based practice.
• Provide individualized education to diverse patient populations in a variety of health care settings.

Communication and Informatics -
Students who complete the Bridge to the Master of Science in Nursing enhance their ability to manage information and technology to provide safe, quality care in a variety of settings.
