Math and Science for Computer Science - Students will acquire the knowledge and skill to analytically evaluate problems and formulate solutions with mathematical and scientific rigor.
Apply the fundamentals of mathematics in the analysis, evaluation of problems and formulation of solutions for computer science.
Employ scientific methods and associated inquiry processes to test basic theories as they apply to computer science projects.
Algorithms and Complexity - Students will be able to identify, design, and evaluate two fundamental computer science and software engineering elements that impact performance: algorithms and the suitability and efficiency of the various layers of implementation. Students will be able to explain the intrinsic nature of a problem, as well as possible solution techniques independent of programming language, programming paradigm, computer hardware, and/or any other implementation aspect.
Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline (ABET 2)
Design and implement algorithms for computer science solutions.
Architecture and Organization - Students will develop a deeper understanding of the hardware environment upon which all of computing is based, and the interface it provides to higher software layers. Students will acquire an understanding of a computer system's functional components; their characteristics, performance, and interactions; and the challenge of harnessing parallelism to sustain performance improvements now and into the future.
Develop a program that provides a solution to a computer organization or an architectural challenge.
Develop software that makes efficient use of system resources.
Computational Science - Students will be able to identify ideas and techniques, including precision of numerical representation, error analysis, numerical techniques, parallel architectures and algorithms, modeling and simulation, information visualization, software engineering, and optimization. Students will recognize how other areas of computer science require the ability to work with concepts from such areas as set theory, logic, graph theory, and probability theory, as well as will be able to create and understand mathematically rigorous proofs in areas such as data structures, algorithms, formal specification, verification, and databases. Students will employ graph theory concepts in networks and operating systems, utilize set theory concepts in software engineering and in databases, and apply probability theory in several computing applications.
Create optimal mathematical models (e.g. graphs, sets, probabilities, etc.) that represent a variety of real-world problems requiring a computational solution.
Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions (CS). (ABET 6)

Information Assurance and Security - Students will identify the set of controls and processes both technical and policy intended to protect and defend information, information management, and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, and confidentiality and providing for non-repudiation. Students will demonstrate the possession of basic needed knowledge, skills, and abilities to protect information systems and attest to the assurance of the past and current state of processes and data.

Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgements in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles. (ABET 4)
Professionalism and Ethics - Students will be able to understand the social and professional contexts of information technology and computing and adhere to ethical codes of conduct. Students will research the historical, social, professional, ethical and legal aspects of computing. They will identify how teamwork is integrated throughout IT and how IT supports an organization, as well as realize the importance of professional oral and written communication skills.
