GeroPsychology -
Graduates of the Master of Science in Psychology program with an Emphasis in GeroPsychology will be able to describe the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the aging processes. Students examine social policies and social systems which affect aging and retirement and analyze research trends in adult development.

• Describe key historical perspectives and theories in psychology.
• Differentiate among current perspectives and theories in psychology.
• Describe applications of psychology.
• Analyze the physical aspect of aging.
• Evaluate current research trends in adult development.

Social Relationships and Multicultural Perspectives Across the Lifespan -
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate of Completion in GeroPsychology will be able to demonstrate an understanding of sociocultural factors and be able to integrate and apply these factors to personal, professional and social contexts. An emphasis on comprehension of multicultural themes across the lifespan is also included. Students will analyze and apply these concepts at both national and global levels.

Research Methods -
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate of Completion in GeroPsychology will be able to evaluate and select appropriate research methods, designs, and statistics, by analyzing the theoretical, ethical, and methodological components used in conducting research.

• Critically evaluate psychological research.
• Design and innovative research study.

Professional Skills/Development -
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate of Completion in GeroPsychology will be able to demonstrate the capacity to thrive in various psychological professions. An emphasis is placed on leadership proficiencies, including written and verbal communication, presentation ability, and team-building. Students will also construct a roadmap for a future career in psychology.
