Pedagogy - Graduates of Grand Canyon University’s Master Arts in Communication with an Emphasis in Education will be exposed to various aspects of sound pedagogical practices at the university level.
- Analyze strategies to effectively collaborate on curriculum design with various stakeholders.
- Align academic standards to objectives and assessments in a syllabus.
- Evaluate the use of various adult learning theories in different situations.
- Recommend best practices in incorporating technology in a distance learning environment.
Theory - Theory is an important aspect of the Communication Discipline. Theory guides practice, research, and assessment in the discipline of Communication. Students are required to express knowledge of various theories within communication.
- Use organizational theory to describe organizational culture.
- Compare and contrast how different theories are applied to a situation.
- Assess the value of leadership theories applied to real world situations.
Practice - Practice is an important part of the communication field. The practice domain emphasizes performing communication skills. Students are required to perform skills relevant to theory in both profession and personal context.
- Conduct an audience analysis.
- Create an assessment to measure learning.
- Evaluate a strategic communication campaign.
