Foundational Principles of Psychology -
Graduates of the Master of Science in Psychology program with an Emphasis in Health Psychology will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical perspectives and themes in psychology and develop a working knowledge of psychology’s content domains. They will also understand the numerous applications of psychology to a variety of settings.

• Describe key historical perspectives and theories in psychology.
• Differentiate among current perspectives and theories in psychology.
• Describe applications of psychology.

Social Relationships and Multicultural Perspectives Across the Lifespan -
Graduates of the Master of Science in Psychology program with an Emphasis in Health Psychology will be able to demonstrate an understanding of sociocultural factors and be able to integrate and apply these factors to personal, professional and social contexts. An emphasis on comprehension of multicultural themes across the lifespan is also included. Students will analyze and apply these concepts at both national and global levels.

Research Methods -
Graduates of the Master of Science in Psychology program with an Emphasis in Health Psychology will be able to evaluate and select appropriate research methods, designs, and statistics, by analyzing the theoretical, ethical, and methodological components used in conducting research.

• Interpret psychological phenomena using scientific reasoning.
• Critically evaluate psychological research.
• Design and innovative research study.
• Apply ethical standards to evaluate psychological science and practice.

Professional Skills/Development -
Graduates of the Master of Science in Psychology program with an Emphasis in Health Psychology will be able to demonstrate the capacity to thrive in various psychological professions. An emphasis is placed on leadership proficiencies, including written and verbal communication, presentation ability, and team-building. Students will also construct a roadmap for a future career in psychology.
