Biography
Dr. Atteberry is passionate about teaching and likes to engage students with critical thinking, literary analysis, and culture, while integrating technology and sharing God's Word with others. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in School Administration from Oral Roberts University, he worked as a teacher and administrator in Christian Schools in the Tulsa area. He also has a master’s degree in English Education from Grand Canyon University. He has a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from ORU. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Atteberry worked in law enforcement as a patrol officer, detective, and DARE officer. He currently has certifications in the State of Oklahoma as a Superintendent, High School Principal, Elementary Principal, Secondary English teacher, English Second Language, Mild to Moderate Disabilities, Middle- Level English, Middle-Level Social Studies, and Elementary Education. He teaches Composition 101, 102 and 303, Copyediting, Technical Writing I and II, and Grant Writing at Oral Roberts University. In addition to teaching, Bruce loves to spend time outdoors. He has a fishing kayak and fishes local lakes and rivers whenever possible. He has two daughters and four grandchildren. Dr. Atteberry currently resides in Tulsa.
