Biography
My name is Dr. Donald Day DNP, MSN, RN. I have had the honor and pleasure of teaching with GCU for almost 8 years, currently I am an adjunct dissertation chair and core course faculty as well. I also am currently working as a Director of Nursing over Telemetry and ICU at Abrazo Scottsdale in Phoenix Arizona. I have worked in the past as a CNO, Senior Director, unit manager, house supervisor, and in the ICU as a staff nurse. I have worked for large organizations like HonorHealth in Arizona, Regional hospitals in Indiana, and also a specialty hospital in Memphis called St. Jude. My education path started at IU East in Indiana earning my undergraduate degree in nursing. Then after arriving in Arizona, GCU quickly became my choice for the MSN program and the DNP program as well. I graduated from the DNP program in 2017; therefore, I have walked where you walk on this journey and all of the other GCU courses for the DNP program. On a personal note, I have been married to my wife, Linda, for 40 years and have 2 children, 8 grand children. I have been active in many nursing organizations, for which I have gotten to know many wonderful people in leaders roles, in Oncology, at the local and national levels.
