Dr. Sharron Accomazzo, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Sharron Accomazzo is a nationally board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University. She brings over 15 years of experience in nursing and psychiatry, working across outpatient, residential, and inpatient levels of care. Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and enriched by her experience working under trailblazers in the addictions and trauma field, including Richard Schwartz, Peter Levine, Pia Mellody, and Dr. Kevin McCauley.
Sharron has experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, with expertise in substance and process addictions, codependence, relational and intimacy issues, eating disorders, and mood and anxiety disorders. Her background includes work in specialized residential programs for eating disorders and love addiction, and she is particularly skilled in navigating the complex intersection of trauma, mood instability, and behavioral health.
In addition to her proficiency in psychiatric medication management, Sharron integrates therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. She believes in addressing the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, and collaborates with her patients to develop individualized care plans that support both symptom relief and long-term emotional healing.
A passionate advocate for holistic and patient-centered care, Sharron prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and encourages patients to set meaningful, self-directed goals. She empowers individuals to explore new coping strategies, reduce stress, and adopt restorative practices that enhance quality of life. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing is possible, and that each person has the capacity to move toward greater emotional wellness, resilience, and wholeness.
