Biography
My name is Joshua Arbogast and I started off my educational journey by receiving my associates degree at Florida Keys Community College, in Key West, Florida. I subsequently attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale and received my bachelor’s degree in both marine biology and biology, along with a minor in marine ecology. In 2020, I obtained my master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Florida to compliment my current career in conservation law enforcement. I have been employed with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) since 2015 and it is my responsibility to enforce state/federal environmental, fisheries, and wildlife laws; to protect threatened/endangered species and habitats from human activity and population growth; to preserve natural resources and water quality; to manage captive and nonnative wildlife; to investigate environmental crimes; and to increase community engagement in an effort to preserve Florida’s beauty for future generations to come. However, I have taken on more interests related to traditional policing. I am an active law enforcement field training officer, general instructor, drug recognition expert (DRE), and I specialize in impaired driving arrests (DUI's). Becoming a law enforcement officer was the most direct and impactful way that I could protect Florida’s natural environment and its people within.
